Luke Howard & Simon Burgin\ Melbourne Music Week
Following our initial collaboration at Dark Mofo, I rejoined award-winning composer Luke Howard at the Melbourne Recital Centre to present the live premiere of his album, All of Us. I developed a suite of generative visuals designed to act as a visual shadow to Howard’s minimalist compositions.
The performance was built around a real-time audio-reactive system that allowed the music to directly influence the digital environment. The visuals were programmed to respond to the nuanced dynamics of the piano and ensemble - transforming the architecture of the Recital Centre into a living, rhythmic extension of the music.
